When working on the fence you should make sure that there is no current flowing through the circuit. Always make doubly sure that the electric fence is switched off and that everyone that has access to the controls knows that you are working on the fence.
 
When you maintain electric fences around a property that has a lot of grass or brush growth, you need to ensure that the grass or brush is kept short close to the electric fencing. This will help to prevent malfunctions. You can do this by spraying weed killer all along the fence.  
 
If your fence has started to make a tapping or clicking sound then you should do an inspection as soon as possible. This noise is one of the indicators that there is a break in the circuit. You should then ascertain where exactly the break is and repair it before it cause major problems within the circuit.

If you are situated in the Southern Hemisphere then the solar panels should be positioned facing North and if you are in the Northern Hemisphere then the solar panels should be positioned facing South.
