Separating visitor calls and everyday access at The Gardens' homes, apartments and duplexes
The Gardens is about 5 km south-east of Sandton City. In The Gardens, an entrance may serve one freestanding home, several apartments or two households in a duplex. The caller may be waiting at a driveway gate, a pedestrian gate or a shared street entrance, so the intercom must reach the right person without giving every visitor a way to open it.
For a The Gardens house, we may connect a video intercom to the driveway motor and an electric lock on the pedestrian gate. A GSM intercom can suit an entrance where new cabling back to the house is impractical, provided there is mobile signal and power at the gate. At an apartment or duplex entrance, separate calling from access by giving residents their own tags, codes or fingerprints.
People buying older The Gardens properties should assume that previous remotes, tags and codes may still work until they are checked. We can clear the receiver, enrol only approved users and set up separate access for household staff or regular services. Tyson assesses the entrance and provides a written quote, including who will administer users after the work is complete.
Everything we install and repair, and how a job runs from first call to handover, is on our intercoms and access control page.
Questions from The Gardens
Can the intercom at our The Gardens gate ring our mobile phones?
Yes. A GSM intercom can ring registered phones, but it needs reliable mobile signal, power at the gate and a SIM with its own airtime costs.
We have just bought in The Gardens. Can you remove the previous owner’s access?
Yes. We can clear old remotes from the receiver, change keypad codes and remove old tags or biometric users before enrolling the people you approve.
If something on your intercom setup in The Gardens is not working as it should, the quickest fix starts with a call. We will ask a few questions, book a visit and quote in writing before any work starts.
