Securing Broadacres' mix of lifestyle estates and cluster homes
Broadacres is about 14 km north-west of Sandton City. Broadacres combines a country atmosphere with dense lifestyle estates and cluster developments. The security challenge here is the scale of shared perimeter walls, sometimes running the length of roads like Cedar Avenue. While properties within estates like Cedar Lakes or Saranton Estate feel secure, the long boundary is the first and most important line of defence.
For these large perimeters, we prioritise correct zoning so a single fault does not disable the entire boundary. We split the fence into manageable zones that report individually for quick fault finding. We also make sure the energiser and battery backup are correctly specified for the fence's length, and that electrified gates at estate entrances are integrated to be both secure and safe.
For sales in Broadacres' sectional title schemes, the electric fence certificate is issued to the body corporate. Sellers and agents should request a copy from the managing agent. If the fence has been altered or if none exists for a transfer after 1 October 2012, the body corporate will need a new one. Tyson is registered with the Department of Employment and Labour to issue the certificate; proof of registration is available on request.
Everything we install and repair, and how a job runs from first call to handover, is on our electric fencing page.
Questions from Broadacres
Our estate's fence was installed by the developer years ago. How do we know if it's still effective?
We conduct a full audit of the perimeter. This includes checking the energiser's capacity, testing the battery backup, inspecting the earthing system, and walking the entire fence line to check for compliance issues like warning sign placement. We then provide the trustees with a detailed report.
The managing agent for our Broadacres complex gave me a certificate, but it's five years old. Is it still valid for my sale?
An Electric Fence System Certificate does not expire. If the perimeter fence has not been extended, altered, or had its energiser replaced since that certificate was issued, it remains valid for the property transfer. Your conveyancer can advise on its use.
Tell us what you have in Broadacres now and what is going wrong, and we will tell you plainly whether it needs a repair, an upgrade or a new electric fence system, then put the quote in writing.
