Fencing Benmore's high-density residential and business perimeters
Benmore is right on Sandton's doorstep. In Benmore Gardens, a security fence often protects a whole complex, apartment block or business premises, not just a single home. These properties have long perimeters, sometimes shared with neighbours or running alongside busy roads like Grayston Drive and West Street. With a mix of wall types and heights around a single property, and public access from places like the Benmore Centre, the fence has to be consistently effective along its entire length.
Our focus for these larger Benmore properties is on zoning and power. We split long perimeters into multiple zones so that a fault can be located quickly, rather than having to patrol the entire boundary. We pay special attention to electrified gates at complexes like Madison Palms East to make sure they work correctly without shocking residents. For any fence, we check that the energiser and battery are correctly sized to carry the full perimeter through a power cut.
When a unit in a Benmore sectional title scheme is sold, the electric fence certificate is the body corporate's responsibility, not the individual seller's. The certificate covers the whole perimeter, so agents should ask the managing agent for a copy. If a certificate is needed for a sale taking place after 1 October 2012, or the fence has been altered, the body corporate arranges the inspection. Tyson is registered with the Department of Employment and Labour to issue these certificates; proof of registration is available on request.
Everything we install and repair, and how a job runs from first call to handover, is on our electric fencing page.
Questions from Benmore
Our body corporate has a certificate, but it's several years old. Is it valid for a sale in our complex?
Yes, an electric fence certificate does not expire. It remains valid as long as the fence has not been extended or altered, and the energiser has not been replaced since the certificate was issued. Your managing agent should have the original on file.
The fence around our office park near Sandton City is very long. How do we find a fault?
For a long perimeter, the fence should be split into smaller, individually monitored zones. When a fault occurs, the keypad will show which zone is affected, narrowing the search area down significantly. We can assess your current setup and quote to add zones if needed.
If something on your electric fence setup in Benmore is not working as it should, the quickest fix starts with a call. We will ask a few questions, book a visit and quote in writing before any work starts.
