IP-CCTV Systems are becoming more and more popular. They are fast becoming the most preferred security surveillance system among professionals. This is because of all the benefits that IP-CCTV systems offer when compared to the normal analogue CCTV surveillance systems. We will discuss these differences and benefits below.

Using IP-CCTV Instead Of Analogue CCTV

The first factor that needs to be taken account is the quality of the video recorded or transmitted. IP-CCTV cameras can record in a quality that is about three time better than that record by analogue cameras. This means that less cameras can be used to cover a greater area if you are using IP-CCTV cameras and this will save you money. It is important to note that while analogue cameras have a maximum resolution, your IP CCTV cameras can record in the highest resolution that the IP network connection can handle.

Another advantage would be cost. Analogue cameras and CCTV systems can be quite expensive to install. You have to professionals install it and they have to install wires and a power source for each camera. This process can take a long time and it can be quite pricey. IP-CCTV cameras are much easier because they connect to the existing IP network. These IP cameras cost approximately the same as the analogue cameras and provide superior quality recordings.

IP CCTV cameras can transmit their images and sound to a central control room that is situated just about anywhere. This is because it transfers the data via the Internet. This also means that you can integrate your IP CCTV system into your security system as a whole. For example, you can connect it to your alarm and access control. You can also have the feed sent your IP video phone as well. This is particularly useful if you are monitoring your babysitter during the day for example.

It is a better idea to include IP CCTV cameras as a part of your comprehensive security system rather than as a stand alone security measure. This will ensure the proper protection of your property.
