Separating visitor calls from everyday access at Rivonia’s shared entrances
Rivonia is about 6 km north of Sandton City. At Rivonia’s sectional title and cluster entrances, one vehicle gate may serve residents, staff, contractors and visitors, while a separate pedestrian gate needs its own lock release. Freestanding properties add another pattern, with callers waiting at the street boundary while the person answering may be inside the house or cottage.
For a shared Rivonia entrance, we separate visitor screening from routine access. Visitors can call through a GSM or video intercom, while residents and regular workers use individual tags, PINs or enrolled fingerprints. At a Rivonia house, extra video monitors can suit a spread-out household, while GSM works where cabling back from the gate is impractical, provided there is power and mobile signal.
Rivonia trustees and managing agents need an accurate user register more than another pile of remotes. Each resident, staff member or contractor should have access that can be removed separately or limited to an agreed schedule. We also restrict access to logs and stored biometric information to named administrators, since installing the equipment does not make a scheme compliant on its own.
Everything we install and repair, and how a job runs from first call to handover, is on our intercoms and access control page.
Questions from Rivonia
Can our Rivonia complex give contractors access only on certain days?
Yes. A suitable access system can apply schedules or temporary credentials, provided someone appointed by the trustees keeps the users and dates up to date.
Can the intercom ring several residents’ phones from one Rivonia gate?
Yes. A GSM intercom can call registered numbers for different units. It needs reliable mobile signal and power at the gate, and its SIM carries ongoing airtime costs.
If something on your intercom setup in Rivonia is not working as it should, the quickest fix starts with a call. We will ask a few questions, book a visit and quote in writing before any work starts.
