Gate motors for Fourways complex entrances and busy estate gates
Fourways is about 13 km north-west of Sandton City. A Fourways complex or estate gate opens for every resident, visitor and delivery, morning and evening, and it is often a heavy sliding gate on a long track beside a guardhouse. A motor sized for a single house wears out quickly on a gate like that, and the trouble usually starts in the mechanics: worn wheels, a rack that has lifted away from the gate, grit in the track, so the motor works harder every month until it stops at the worst time.
So we look at the gate before the motor. We check the wheels, rollers, rack and track and set the gate so it runs freely by hand, then service or fit a motor rated for the traffic, with safety beams across the opening and battery backup for power cuts. Tyson is a Centurion Trained SMART Installer, and proof is available on request.
For trustees, most of what a gate costs is call-outs and complaints when residents are stuck outside. A planned service, with the wheels, rack, beams and battery checked at set intervals, turns that into a cost the body corporate can budget for, and remotes belonging to people who have moved out can be cleared from the receiver on the same visit.
Everything we install and repair, and how a job runs from first call to handover, is on our gate automation page.
Questions from Fourways
Our complex gate is slow and stops halfway. Does it need a new motor?
Not always. Most often the gate itself is dragging: worn wheels, a lifted rack or grit in the track. We fix the mechanics first and only quote for a motor if it is worn out or too small for the traffic.
Can residents who have moved out still open our gate?
If their remotes were never removed, yes. We clear the receiver and re-register the remotes the body corporate approves, so the list matches the people who live there.
Every Fourways property is different, so we look before we quote. Send us a photo or call, and we will arrange a visit and a written quote for your gate motor work.
