New Gate Motor

The new gate motor is always of contention for any home owner simply because, most of the time, people feel that they did not really get their money’s worth from the old gate motor and they were not really ready to be spending money on the new gate motor.

Installing a new gate motor is not as easy as you might think. Suppliers try and make this simple operation as complicated as possible. It is as if they do not realise what has brought the home owner to this point: The long debates about whether the old motor really was dead and needed replacing. The countless times when you’re old motor gave you that false hope in its revival. The annoyance when you opted to go low tech for a while, thinking you could once again get used to a gate with no motor. So when you call up a contractor, or contact the gate motor supplier directly, and they give you some run around about availability and whether or not they still make this particular motor, it really is the last thing a frustrated homeowner needs to hear. The fact that the old motor did not even last that long makes the notion that they discontinued manufacture quite believable.

The supplier will none the less still assure you that a new gate motor is still going to appear, it is just a matter of waiting for him/her to track it down. There will always be some dealer on the other side of the country that either has a reconditioned motor available or some old stock that was never recalled, either way your new gate motor is not really going to be in line with your version of the word new. If fact what the gate motor supplier is cunningly doing is setting you up for the fact that your new gate motor will working well for all that long. Knowing that next time you will probably insist on getting a brand new motor, that comes with a warrantee, but also means having to replace the entire system, and everyone knows just how long the new gate motor will last beyond the warrantee date.
